Why hello..

Oh, hello there! I didn't notice you there, blog! Sorry I've been ignoring you lately, I promise it hasn't been on purpose...I've just been so busy this holiday season. Although I know that's not really a good excuse and I normally don't like giving excuses for my actions anyways, thats the truth. Things have been so hectic what with all the traveling and seeing old faces and newer faces and stuff. Its difficult to keep track. But anyways, I've been good, this christmas was sort of weird since my sister Rachel wasn't here to spend it with us for the first time ever. But things change and I'm just trying to go with the flow of things. Today I saw Tangled for the second time (first time in 3d) with my Aunt and mom. I was inspired to finally write to Disney about being an animator. I don't really know what will come of it but maybe it will help settle some of my doubts or concerns about changing my mind somewhat from straight up Graphic Design to Animation. Well, we shall see. Here's hoping for something! Thanks for hanging in there!

Sneak Peek (Pt 2)

Well, I've moved on to animating now. One thing I always love about when I begin to animate (that was sarcasm. I hate this) is that I always realize that I forgot to draw some rather important poses. That means that I have to go back and draw them in before I can move forward. Oh well, at least some of the project is in flash now. :] enjoy!

(fyi: It is supposed to look sketchy and imperfect. That's the style.)

Sneak Peek

So I've decided to give all of you a sneak peek of my project that I am currently working on. It is an animated short. That is all I  am going to say. But in the meantime, I will show you one of the characters that will star in this short. There is still a TON work in progress. Hopefully I will be able to get all the characters (and their many poses) and all the scenery finished by today. That way tomorrow I can begin animating. Wish me luck!

Ankle Update: If you haven't heard, I twisted my ankle pretty badly during the lights fantastic parade by falling in a pot hole. Right now it is so swollen that I have a huge cankle on my right leg. Its really painful to walk and I've been doing all I can to keep off of it today. So if you were planning on going somewhere with me, cancel those plans. I'm staying put. You're welcome to come and visit me, though. :]

Crunch Time!!

So I was in the middle of pulling together this great thing that I was going to add to a blog post yesterday when I was interrupted by tons of work falling out of the sky and landing on my head. Ok, so it didn't actually fall out of the sky, but I still do have an unnatural amount of work to do this week and I think that in order to get it all done, I'm going to need to put updating blog posts on the back burner for now. Hopefully I will be able to get all my work done by next thursday and by doing so, free up more time to do fun stuff like this. So, everyone, sorry for the disappointment. I suggest you ponder my earlier posts and vote in my poll in order to soothe your sadness. Thank you, come again (next thursday).

Houses of Parliament ~ Monet

Stare in awe at the wonders of Monet. 

If you were wondering what I did over Thanksgiving break, I visited the St. Louis Art Museum. No, they didn't have a Monet exhibit. But they did announce that their next exhibit next winter will feature art  by the oh-so-skilled-art-god, Claud Monet. I am SO excited! (Though I may not show it, my inner art-nerd is jumping up and down) I can't wait!

So that was probably the highlight of my week (That isn't to say that I didn't thoroughly enjoy the rest of my break. It was a lot of fun)

Wow, Look at the time!

My apologies, everyone, for not having a post up lately. I've been busy with various things. I moved dorms yesterday so that was a little crazy. So its finally November! Let me just say, I love November! Mostly because of Thanksgiving. I LOVE Thanksgiving! (I'm pretty sure It's my favorite holiday). This year Thanksgiving is going to be different, though. This is going to be the first Thanksgiving that I will not be spending with my immediate family. But that's okay, I've got family right here in Carbondale! Just one of the many perks of going to SIUC! yay!

Well, tomorrow is a national holiday which means  no classes and also, salute to the armed forces on saturday's football game! yay! It's going to be a great show! I recommend you go if you're able. I promise I will try to update more often. Also, let's hope I can get more artwork up, cause, let's face it, nobody wants to read my ranting. You're probably only here for the art. Haha, sorry, I'll stop joking around with the random videos and half-a-page rants. You'll get your artwork soon enough. ;)

Ok, so change of plans. Unfortunately I will not be dressing up as Justin Bieber this halloween. Mostly because I'm poor. Instead I will be a zombie. This is because it cost a whopping ten dollars to create this costume. I'm a little disappointed myself. Next halloween I shall try to recreate the infamous Bieber look. Sorry to all you disappointed fans.

"Hey, Girlie..."

Ok, so halloween this year is going to be interesting. For one, we are having "unofficial" Halloween this weekend because the campus closes on actual halloween. Secondly, my costume is going to be a little strange...scratch that. A lot strange.

It all started when I was in wal mart with my friends and we were making fun of Justin Bieber. I started doing my Bieber impression (which, if i say so myself, is pretty spot-on.) We were all joking around and then someone had a "brilliant" idea (its bound to happen some time...). I think it was Christie (yeah, its all your fault, Christie) who said that I should be JBiebs for Halloween. I laughed and brushed it off. But then Liz got in on it and had to triple-dog-dare me to do it. What could I do? Everyone knows you can't turn down the triple-dog-dare! So yeah, that's what my halloween costume is gonna be. Well, hopefully, if i can actually get to the store and buy the stuff to make the damned thing. 

This is definitely going to be and interesting halloween... to say the least.

And Then, There was Fall

Yesterday it was around 85 degrees in the late afternoon. It was sunny and warm for the most part. Today it is around 60 degrees and cool. All of a sudden it feels like fall. Its amazing how much things can change overnight...literally. I love this new change in weather and I hope it sticks around for a while. Here's to you, cloudy skies. And to you, trees, may you rain down leaves of orange and red.

Is it really Monday?

So last week, It felt like every day was a monday. Today, I'm finding it difficult for my brain to wrap around the concept that today is, in fact, an actual Monday. Is it really already October 18th? where did all the days go? Please excuse me while I search under my bed and behind my desk. I'm sure those lost days are hiding somewhere back there...

I'm always one step behind

So I realized last night around 11:30 that the date was 10/10/10. Wow. Why didn't anyone mention anything!? I feel like I should have done something special to commemorate the moment but instead, because of my failure to be observant, I just bought a broom. Yep. Well at least I got it for a good deal. I spent a whopping one dollar for that broom. Worth every penny.
So I feel like I should compensate for the fact that I ignored yesterday. hmm... I'll get back to you on that one...

Dawg Tired

So homecoming game was today. It was very tiring and very hot and unconfortable. But we won! 45 to 38 against...some team in an ugly, dark purple *shudder*. gross. anyway. It was fun despite our sweaty selves. Also, the best part was when my fellow clarinet friend, Christie and I started dancing and made it onto the jumbotron! that was so awesome!!! And with that, I will end on this note: I don't even know, nor care, who made homecoming king/queen. AWESOME!

Bouncy Ball With Wings

Yeah, that's right. I actually made a bouncy ball with wings...
(read previous post if confused. *Disclamer* reading the previous post probably won't make you any less confused but it may shed light as to why there is a picture of a red ball with wings on my blog.)

I am hyped up on mtn dew and need to get my work done.

Man. I'm such a slacker. I have so much to do and right now all I can think of is OK GO and tomorrow's classes. I need to find my focus. Too many things are going on right now around me. I wish I had a longer ethernet cord...I wish I didn't need an ethernet cord in order to connect to the internet. I probably should get off now and start back up on my poster that needs to get designed. Damn, you Audrey 2 for being on my poster! Why must you be a plant with twisty vines and roots?! why can't you be something simple like a bouncy ball with wings?! ...I'm pretty sure I'm making no sense right now...oh well. On that note I will leave you scratching your heads and thinking to yourself, "WTF?!"
